8 Acts @ MoPop Festival 2017, West Riverfront Park, Detroit

MoPop Festival 2017 was held at Detroit’s West Riverfront Park on July 29th and 30th, over the course of two nearly flawless Summer days. Forgive us our tardiness and enjoy our recorded evidence of the mostly solid line-up. As much as we would’ve loved to present more of the fest’s Hip-Hop contingent on video, truth is, Run The Jewels were the only one of ’em that put on a show worth recording, let alone sharing. Go ahead and add “Aminé” and “Tyler the Creator” to your ever-expanding list of contemporary rappers willing to present karaoke and call it live musical performance. Don’t forget where ya heard it first, fools. Ms. Solange Knowles and her band were the unquestioned highlight of the weekend, giving nothing less than a clinic in proper live presentation. We can only hope their all too prerecorded contemporaries take notice. ~I♥DM
